4 tablespoons shortening
4 tablespoons sugar
1 egg (beaten)
1 cup corn meal
1 cup flour
4 teaspoons baking powder
1 1/4 cup milk
Cream together shortening and sugar. Stir in remaining ingredients. Blend
well. Spoon into buttered muffin tin. (one dozen muffins) Bake for 20 to 25
minutes at 375º.
