Whether children celebrate Easter or not, they usually enjoy decorating Easter eggs. Unfortunately when the project is complete, there are dozens of hard boiled eggs to consume. And after a few days of egg salad, those eggs become rather unappealing.
Another option is to remove the inside of the raw egg, before decorating. All this requires is a sharp pointed object, such as an ice pick or skewer. Depending on the age of the children, it might be best for the adult to handle the *emptying* of the egg.
Carefully poke a small hole into each end of the egg. From one end, gently blow into the egg, allowing the egg to seep out of the other hole, into a bowl. The egg can then be used for scrambled eggs or baked in a recipe.
Gently wash the egg shell in water and dry. Set it on a paper towel and allow to dry completely.
After you have decorated the eggs, use fishing line to strand a group of the eggs together and hang as a garland.
