LAKE HAVASU CITY, Ariz. (January 27/28, 2012) – The 1st annual Lake Havasu
Music Brews and BBQ Championship which is a KCBS Sanctioned Event as well as
a State Championship will be held at Lake Havasu State Park #4, located at

kicks-off Friday January 27th starting at 10 am with free admission for the
Handicap only until 12 noon, from 12 pm until 10 pm the general public is
welcome. Competitive teams will begin firing-up their smokers for the
next 36 hours of meat preparation and barbecue smoking. Last year’s
event (the Largest ever in Arizona) consisted of more than 80 BBQ teams from
14 states, 135 KCBS Certified Judges and over 15,000 attendees. This
year, we hope to reach the Century Mark (100) in competitive BBQ teams
attending, and expect to have over 20,000 attendees. Lake Havasu City
may have been made famous by the relocation of the London Bridge in 1971 by
Mr. McCulloch, but during this event, the only thing you’ll remember is all
the great food.
The Lake Havasu Music Brews and BBQ Championship event is a major fundraiser
held each year by C & M Events, LLC. (www.musicbrewsbbq.com).
Of the funds raised, proceeds go back to our local community charities &
youth organizations. Admission to the event is $5.00 p/p, but includes
all of the music and entertainment provided during the event. In
addition to the BBQ professionals (competing for a State BBQ Championship &
over $10,000. Cash & Prizes), the event includes Craft, Retail & Wholesale
Vendors, Musical Entertainment, a “Kids Corner Fun Zone” and a Car & Bike
Show. There will be a variety of foods available, both BBQ and Non-BBQ
along with the many other typical festival foods. Also, there will be
the much-anticipated “Peoples Choice Food Sampling” Championship consisting
of $1 samples provided by many of the professional BBQ teams. It’s a
two-day celebration that comes from the Great American Family Tradition of
Backyard Barbecuing.
The Kickoff
On Thursday, January 26th, teams will begin starting at 12 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.
loading into their spaces for the next 3 days of competition. Then
that evening for early team & participant arrivals, there is a party hosted
by McKee’s Pub & Grill at McCulloch Blvd. N. & Pima.
