Mayor
Proclaims Winterfest Weekend

Lake Havasu Chamber Winterfest Coordinator
Sarah Murphy; Winterfest Volunteer Committee Chair Eileen
Nexsen; Committee Member Drue Brainard; Chamber Team Members
Kathy Tippett and Jeni Coke, watch as the Mayor declares
Feb. 10-11 as Winterfest Weekend.
The
second weekend of February has officially been declared
“Winterfest Weekend” by Lake Havasu City Mayor Mark Nexsen.
Nexsen made the announcement on Jan. 23 in a brief ceremony
at City Hall and attended by the Lake Havasu Area Chamber of
Commerce staff and Winterfest Committee Volunteers.
The 22nd Annual Winterfest
will be held Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 10-11, on McCulloch
Boulevard between Smoketree and Acoma Avenues. Event hours
are 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. each day. Winterfest is produced by the
Chamber and sponsored by the Lake Havasu City Convention and
Visitors Bureau and the Ramada Express Hotel and Casino.
Recognizing the impact both winter visitors
and year-around residents make to the local economy, the
mayor’s proclamation states:
“Whereas, the winter months in Lake
Havasu City offer the finest weather in the Southwest for
outdoor recreation and festivals for year round residents
and winter visitors; and
Whereas, Lake Havasu City, Arizona’s
Desert Oasis and American home of the London Bridge, want to
recognize and thank local residents and families and the
thousands of visitors who make our community their winter
home and for participating in the multitude of winter
events;
Whereas, local, year round residents and
winter visitors contribute significantly to the community of
Lake Havasu, and sustaining partners will host the 22nd
Annual Winterfest Celebration on February 10-11, 2007;
Now therefore, I, Mark S. Nexsen, Mayor
of Lake Havasu City, Arizona, do hereby proclaim February
10-11, 2007 as WINTERFEST WEEKEND in Lake Havasu City, and
urge all citizens to participate in appropriate
celebration.”
