Water Ski at
Lake Havasu

            Water skiers have been enjoying the glassy waters of Lake Havasu for over fifty years. Lake Havasu has also been the site of water ski tournaments and jet ski races. Wooden double skis were replaced by the slalom skier. Wakeboards brought in a new generation of ski enthusiasts. We traded in our ski belts for lifejackets and discovered ski gloves for a better grip.
          Today water skiers continue to enjoy the calm waters of Lake Havasu. Whatever your waterskiing desire, come to Lake Havasu.  Local companies offer ski classes and boat rentals.

Required at Lake Havasu:

• There must be at least two persons aboard a boat when towing a water skier; the driver and an observer, 12 years of age or older.

• Skiing is only allowed from sunrise to sunset.

• Passing the towline over another vessel or skier, or navigating between a vessel and its tow is not allowed.

• Coast Guard-approved life jackets are required for everyone onboard, or being towed.

• A ski flag is required to indicate a downed skier, one getting ready to ski, or a ski or line.

• It is unlawful to water-ski or operate a boat under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
