Bobbi Ann Johnson Holmes first ventured into
journalism as the co-editor of her high school newspaper at Lake
Havasu High School. In 1976 she earned her Bachelors of Art Degree
at California State University of Fullerton, with a degree in
Communications, and an emphasis in photography.
During her senior year internship she wrote and produced the
public television documentary, Born to Die, which aired in 1976. Her publishing company, Robeth
Publishing, was created in 1982, with the Great Grandma's Recipe
Book. From 1985 to 1991 she published the monthly community
newspaper, Mountain/Hi-Desert Guide, and the full color
magazine,
Wrightwood Magazine.Robeth Publishing, LLC
was created in 2006, and acquired the publications of Robeth
Publishing.
In 1991, when her father became terminally ill, she sold
Mountain/Hi-Desert Guideand
returned to Lake Havasu with her family, to help her parents operate Havasu Palms, Inc.,
the oldest resort on Lake Havasu.
In 1995 she published
Where the Road Ends,
about the history of Havasu Palms, Inc. In 1999 she launched Havasu Magazine,
Lake Havasu's online magazine.
Today she is a REALTOR® in Lake Havasu City, where she
partners with her husband, Don Holmes, at Heirloom Realty. Together
they specialize in commercial and residential Havasu real estate.
She has her Certified Commercial Sales Specialist (CCSS), Graduate
REALTOR® Institute (GRI), and E-Pro real estate
certification\designations.
Bobbi and Don Holmes have strong ties in Lake Havasu
City. Bobbi’s mother, Caroline Johnson (who was one of the owners of
Havasu Palms), lives in Lake Havasu City, as does Don’s parent’s
Walter and Doris Castro. Don and Bobbi’s children, Robert “Scott”
and Elizabeth Holmes, graduated from Lake Havasu High School.
Elizabeth recently graduated from the San Diego Art Institute, and
designed the Havasu
Magazine
logo. Scott does freelance web design, and owns a small clothing
company with his fiancé, SeAnne Diller.
Don and Bobbi Holmes own Robeth Publishing, LLC, which
continues to publish
Havasu Magazine, along with a
line of family oriented
novelty books.
