Decrepit outbuildings needed to go! This old outhouse was removed
shortly after the Johnsons arrived in 1968. |
 |
| Barrels, boxes and debris
littered the area near the store. Everyone pitched in to help clean up
this site behind the general store. |
 |
| Rocky was one of the many
young people who helped the Johnsons clean up the park. This is a view
from the store, towards the tool shed, and eventual site of the launch
ramp. |
 |
| It took time to sort
through the enormous amount of items stacked and stored throughout the
park. One never knew when that item you might throw out, would be needed
in the future. And, considering how far it was to a hardware store, one
needed to consider the usefulness of every item before discarding it! |

Flowers on the Wall - the Johnsons couldn't
replace the existing store immediately, and so they spruced the
structure up with a coat of paint, and some colorful flowers. After all,
it was the sixties! |
 |
| Located on the peninsula
with the general store, this 'tool shed' was removed by Walt, and
relocated away from the water. |
