Walt Johnson constructed a new launch ramp
in front of the Havasu Palms store,
providing tenants with a more modern launch facility.

The one that got away

When building the new boat launch Walt devised a clever way to pour the concrete on land, then launch the ramp in place. His scheme worked too well. The new concrete ramp literally sailed out into the bay. With the aide of a tractor, and employee, Tim Loyd, Walt managed to retrieve the stray ramp and bring it back to its final destination.
